About SDSDA

MISSION STATEMENT

SDSDA is a regional professional association of Spiritual Directors.  We exist to support our common work, encourage professional growth and provide opportunities for connection.

HISTORY

In the fall of 2008, a group of six San Diego spiritual directors met to discuss the possibilities of forming a group in which they could network and encourage one another.  Spiritual directors can sometimes feel isolated, as their work is private and confidential.

After a series of brainstorming and organizational meetings, the San Diego Spiritual Directors Association (SDSDA) was formed, and the first quarterly meeting was held in February of 2009 with a group of 16 people.  The Association met quarterly throughout 2009 and their membership increased to 25.

Throughout the course of that first year, the purpose and goals of the Association were formed through input from the members.  SDSDA continues to be shaped by the needs of the individual spiritual directors who attend.
