Governance

SDSDA is organized and managed by a Coordinating Council made up of volunteers who are members of the association.  As a group, they form and hold the vision of SDSDA and pursue its goals. Each of the eight members of the Coordinating Council serve a two year term.  There are two cycles so that four new members are chosen each year.  The positions are as follows:

Cycle 1: Beginning in odd years (2009, 2011, etc.)

Communications – receives and sends emails, sends out notices, responds to mail correspondence

Quarterly Meetings – organizes quarterly meetings

Finances – receives annual dues and pays bills

Database – enters member information into a database and provides the information to the Coordinating Council as needed

Cycle 2: Beginning in even years (2010, 2012, etc.)

Website – responsible to get website set up and maintained

Members Benefits – pursuit and communication of member benefits

Events – plans special events sponsored by SDSDA such as professional growth  days

Food for quarterly meetings – organizes the provision of drinks and snacks for the quarterly meetings
